- Heavy-duty steel pins are held in place with a nylon-insert lock nut

The pins and clips work well. There is a lot less noise than the oar locks I've used in the past. You can't feather the oars but I don't notice a dirrerance.

Solid... Just like the ones we used commercially. Strong and predictable in big, technical, and challenging whitewater.

I row both oar locks and pins and clips. I am finding that I like the pins and clips better. Similiar to an Oar Right, this system sets you oar up in the proper position. Beginning rowers find this a little strange compared to my oar locks with oar rights. I also like the top of the pin having a big rubber guard. It would be better for somebody that slips while walking around on the boat to fall onto this set-up rather than a point oar lock.
