In general I like the Bandit, although the blades do wear.
Got the adjustable as I teach canoeing, so wanted something the students could try at different lengths to see what works best for them. This fits that bill.
The T-grip is different from the fixed-length Bandits -- to accommodate the locking mechanism, it isn't centered over the shaft, but offset away from the power face. So it feels a little different when you switch from the one to the other.
I'm not tall enough to try it out at the longest length to see how solid the extended shaft feels -- at the lengths I paddle (low to mid 50s) is feels like a solid one-piece.Was this helpful?

We used the this canoe paddle on a 95 day, 1,200 mile canoe trip through the Arctic this summer. Being first time canoeists, we put this paddle through so much abuse as we learned how to canoe. An early start and low water conditions meant we used these paddles to push off rocks, sand, mud; and use them as ice breakers, tarp poles, and generally beat them up on portages. After using this paddle every day for three months, its comfort, durability, beauty, and control stand out as being truly phenomenal. Being so durable, one would expect the paddle to weight a lot, but its construction means its light enough for all day use. When we first pulled the paddle out of the box it seemed more like a piece of art than a paddle and we were somewhat scared to use it, but we couldn't have asked for a better paddle and can't wait to continue to use it on future expeditions. Was this helpful?
