    Salamander UN Storage Bags

These are a replacement for NRS Stow Float Bag, which was twice the price, and only got 1-bag. The matching pair of Salamander Ultranighter Storage Bags will completely fill the bow of my Dagger Katana 10.4. These bags keep all gear in place and are more rugged. Definitely keeping them. Thanks to Outdoorplay for making the exchange a seamless process for swapping new gear for new gear.

Both bags are large enough to cover the entire stern of a large whitewater creek boat. Was surprised the internal compartment ran the entire length, enough room for all items needed for camping, safety, etc. would definitely purchase again.

Great sto-floats for overnighter whitewater trips!

The best of the currently available kayak storage float bags. I've tried them all - including the premium bags from another company. The challenge with using the various bags for whitewater kayak overnighters is having the bag fulfill several things: 1) pliability so it can fit past often narrow openings rear of the seat; 2) Big enough to fit a reasonable amount of gear; and 3) Durability. All the other bags I have tried had deficiencies in one or more of these areas. After using the Salamander bags for a 7-day wilderness whitewater trip, I can say the tradeoffs are minimal. They seem sturdy, they are pliable so they fit easily into the boat, and they expand in the right places to fit a good amount of gear.

Overall, I was very very excited to finally find a bag that works without compromise.

    Do it

More like a 4.5/5 -- everything I expected, good product. We'll see how they hold up; construction seems solid and in line with the price. I assume the similar bag from NRS might be nicer but it also costs significantly more.

In considering traditional float bags and dry bags, and how those fit in a river runner, this option is certainly practical. As compared to float bags alone, the extra money to have a dual purpose bag, was worth it to me. Easy access to the bag contents, perhaps the hose could stand to be 5-6" longer (not deal breaker).

From what I can tell, the smalls generally fill up the stern of my 80gal, 8ft river runner (Diesel). The nice thing is, I can roll up the bag more and half-inflate them for my more slicey 51gal, Big EZ.

If you can catch these at 15-20% off like I did, it's a no-brainier, imo.

So far so good. Holding air and keeping my stuff dry.
