    Simple easy pull on design.

Simple easy pull on design. no pockets. cinch waist band. No complaints. Great outer layer. Used as rain gear. Fit and sizing is as expected. Roomy for easy manuevering but not 'baggy'

    I was looking for some

I was looking for some (nearly) waterproof pants to put on over jeans, etc. They do fine on that score but they are NOISY when you move. Something like crinkling up heavy wrapping paper. Not sure I'll use them much-might scare the fish!

    NRS Rio Paddling Pants

I bought my first set of these along with the matching hooded rio jacket last fall to wear for a rafting trip I was invited on. I don't know much about rafting but I know these along with the jacket kept me dry and comfortable on the water while I took in the fall scenery. The material is nice because it doesn't stick and bind to the raft or other surfaces and pull off of you like some other types of waterproof gear. I also ended up using the set just for general wearing around on cool rainy days when I will be spending any time outdoors. So far I have used them for hiking, bike riding and just running errands when the weather is cool and yucky. They clean up easily by hand and are still 100% waterproof. My favorite feature of the NRS line is their stuff doesn't look like traditional rain gear but still keeps the outside out Size-wise I am 170 pounds and 6' tall and the large fits nicely over a thin base layer or just boxers/shorts if it's not too cold. No complaints here!

    Good value but not waterproof

I bought these pants to use on a recent kayaking trip on the Colorado River in winter. The pants performed well enough for the job in terms of keeping the wind off of me and my lower half reasonably dry. These pant are not waterproof but are very water resistant. My **** got wet, but not soaked and my legs stayed dry. I was riding a "ride on top" kayak so was exposed in cold weather. The pants work well as a wind block but do not breath so be prepared to "air out" periodically. For the money, I didn't expect more so I am satisfied. The material is tough and the pants fitted true. I only do one cold weather kayaking trip a year so these pants are fine but if you do more than infrequent trip, you should consider springing for better gear.
