    NRS Deluxe Boat Sponge

This is just a sponge, BUT unlike most sponges I can attach it somewhere in my boat and it is covered. Hopefully, this means that I won't lose it and that it wan't deteriorate at the same rate as most sponges. I gave one to a friend who had lost a sponge in a recent swim.

    NRS Deluxe Boat Sponge

I keep this sponge behind my seat when I'm out on the water. It picks up any water I bring up when entering.

Works better and seems like it will last longer than other sponges I've had.

    NRS Deluxe Boat Sponge

This is only a sponge, of course, but a particularly good one. It's different from the cheaper ones available because it has a nylon covering that allows you to wring it out more completely than uncovered sponges. It sits between my legs in the keel of the kayak, the lowest point in the boat. Stored there, it soaks up water as it enters the boat and pools in the keel, and I just periodically wring it out during the day to keep the boat dry. The sponge itself dries very quickly afterwards.

    NRS Deluxe Boat Sponge

Now about the sponge: Yes you could get any old crummy sponge to mop up water, but this sponge is just cool. It's blue for one thing! AND it "feels" nice too. I often use it for padding by putting it under one knee if I'm working on a rough surface (gravel); really comfortable. So it is as durable as a sponge could be; doesn't shred to pieces. In all seriousness, I have nothing bad to say about this sponge. Perhaps it could soak up a bit more water, however that is likely operator error and I really haven't conducted any sponge product comparisons so what can I say. Did I say it's blue? A truly attractive looking sponge.
