Would be perfect if it wasn't for the glossy-smooth pedal surface

I bought these foot pedals as a replacement for the very basic foot pegs that came in my NDK Romany. The shape of the Sea-Lect foot pedals is much easier on the feet than the square stock ones with their sharp edges. And the easy, convenient adjustability while seated in the cockpit is unbeatable. Unlike some other designs, these foot braces won't come loose while you are upside down during a roll, or in other situations where you really want your feet connected to the boat.

One of my former kayaks came with the rudder version of these foot braces, and so I knew about their advantages. What I did not realize is how smooth the surface of the foot pedals is when new. Smooth plastic equals slippery when wet. After slipping off three or four times during my first paddle, I treated the pedals with coarse terry cloth, and that took care of that. If I could deduct only half a star for that, I would. Give the surface just a little texture, nothing too aggressive, and these foot braces deserve the full five stars.

    won't corrode

These footpegs won't corrode and can be easily adjusted in the fly while paddling. Great product and well designed.
