    Great for backcountry trips!

I have a video review on my YouTube channel Lone Crow Adventures if you'd like to check out this stove in action.

I purchased the MSR reactor earlier this season and it has been amazing! I've used it extensively in the backcountry, on canoe trips and at car camping without any problems. I've even used it in the mountains during high wind and heavy rain situations. The burner works really fast to boil water for me to rehydrate our meals. It is also well constructed and will take some abuse. I highly recommend this product!!!

    Great for backpacking!

I bought this stove earlier this season and couldn't be happier with it's performance. It boils water quickly, efficiently and reliably. I've used it in high wind settings, rainy conditions and on extended trips with great success. I like that all the attachments fold into to each other. I also purchased the coffee press and this was a good investment. It makes reliable coffee that tastes great. Check out my video for a close up look at the MSR Reactor and the coffee press attachment.

For me this is the best MSR stove I have owned

I've owned a bunch of MSR stoves going all the way back to 1974. That includes the original MSR stove, of which I can no longer remember the model name, several XGK's, a Whisperlite and Dragon fly.

I only cook one pot meals and often travel solo. I not longer do winter trips so start-up and very quick boil times have never been an issue. The weight, ease of set up and convenience of the MSR Reactor 1.7L Camping Stove System is tops for me. You do not need to run "MSR" labeled canisters. I have found that Coleman's 3250-702T Butane/Propane mix work very well and can be purchased from most Walmarts at a very reasonable price.

MSR Reactor 1.7L Camping Stove System

Lately I have decided to reduce the amount of work that I need to do on multi-day kayak trips. To me this means less cooking and cleaning. I like to bring either store bought or home made boil in the bag meals that I add spices to. The Reactor is perfect for this use as all I need is boiling water and the reactor delivers this in just a few minutes. One warning is that it is not initially clear that the stove is lit when you light it. You should be very careful and I find this a teeny bit stressful when lighting the stove. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the need to bring pre-filled cans of fuel. They just take up space when empty and require recycling on your part after the trip but this is an acceptable trade-off in convenience. Bottom line is that I love this stove and recommend it to any one who needs hot water fast.
