    Offsets, not just for Aid

I bought a set cuz I wanted to start practicing C2 Aid climbing. I used them on a couple of routes at JTree, old classics with pinscars and they are the schizzle! Alll those placements where you are pleased about one set of lobes and not so much about the other? BAM!!! problem solved. I really like the texture and thickness on the lobes. So frikkin light that bringing a set along is a no brainer....

    Best value small cam

Since BD axed the C3 from their lineup these are easily the best small (under 1”) cams available. Totems are spiffy but super expensive and hard to find (and don't go as small), and BD x4s are too flexible for my taste (and quite expensive too.) Unlike the previous reviewer I definitely suggest racking the 00-0 - sure they can pull easier than larger pieces, but in a pinch, they're a lot better than no pro, especially as part of an equalized nest of small gear. 00-4 are rack essentials and the 5 is a very useful option for filling the gap between BD C4 sizes .75 and 1. The larger sizes are fine, but imo it's worth shelling out the extra $ for C4's size 1 and up due to their increased range and stability.

One of the best for small to medium sizes

These cams are as good or better than any other for sizes 1-4 (blue - red). They hold great and are light. Some folks like the BD X4s better but I think they are very similar. The Totem Basics might be a little better but, if so, it is really just incremental.

I suggest Size 1-4 for the following reasons. below size 1 (i.e. the grey and purple) they are not rated such that I would be confident whipping on them. They might hold but they might not. Above size 4, they don't feel as stable and the limited range really shows. It's not that they are bad cams in larger sizes, but there are so many better options in those sizes (C4s, Totem cams, and dragon cams to name a few well known ones).

Note: I thought elimination of the thumb loop would bother me but it does not.
