Our product return and exchange process is very easy. Simply return the product within 30 days of the date of purchase. Fill out the return form on the back of the invoice you received and send it with the product. Metolius Rock Climbing BRD Belay Device With Element Carabiner - The BRD Belay Device With Element Carabiner by Metolius offers enhanced control while lowering and rappelling with enormous stopping power. This versatile and lightweight belay/rappel device has rope slots are that are engineered to increase friction on the rope allowing the belayer to easily catch long, hard falls with relatively light hand pressure. The principle behind the BRD is very simple: as the load of a falling climber is applied, the carabiner is pulled into the scientifically engineered rope slots and the rope is squeezed between the carabiner and the BRD. CNC machined from 6061 T-6 aluminum and hard anodized for longer wear the cooling fins help to dissipate heat more efficiently. I have yet to rappel with this device but on belay duty it does just fine. I'm a little skeptical as to the actual effectiveness of the super awesome "cooling fins". Either way, it performs properly and makes speedy catches and it's pretty thrifty deal as well.
