    high quality

high quality sturdy well made shoe.

I have done only two hikes with these so far one was the local training mountain 4.5 miles 1200 ft elev. gain.

and Mt San Gorgonio via Dobbs ridge. 6 mile 5600 ft elev gain up (no trail for 4+ miles and ,5000 ft gain) and 8+ miles down Vivian creek trail. the shoes performed well but ached a little after 4 miles. I was able to loosen the laces enough to alleviate this. As a former rock climber these shoes could be used for moderate trad and sport routes up 5.9 due to their adjustability and edge construction and are great for boulder scrambling and three season sierra day hikes with lots of scree technical sections and moraine (fun!) I have several friends that use these for canyoneering. Don't wear them for regular hikes as they will probably wear out quickly. Not sure how they would be with a heavy pack. They are resoleable and should last through multiple resolings.

the fit is slightly large and the toe box is adequate for wide feet . I wear a size 12 for hiking and ordered these in a 46 eu and they fit well. I would imagine that these will stretch a bit with time but there is ample accommodation in the laces to compensate if necessary.

    great traction

I prefer to tie one hole from the top lace hole. The lace tensioning system has no accommodation for this.

the insole is very good but for long hikes (15 plus miles )you may want a thicker insole or sock which may require going up one size (eu) the shoes are so well made I wouldn't be able to bring myself to try and remove the factory insole to replace with it with an after market insole. maybe just add a thin cushion over original just had This may only apply to old people like me that have thinner fat pads on the bottoms of their feet.

5 stars Yes you should buy these.

I got my shoe to show a photo of the lace system. Have only done two hikes they already look like they're a year old. Haha, that's how I roll not the shoes fault

    Best shoe

I absolutely love this shoe for it's all around versatility. I climb in the Canadian Rockies and the crag approaches are pretty intense. Hour plus hikes with a lot of elevation gain and loss, loose scree, scrambling sections, river crossings, you name it. These shoes are burly enough to take the punishment and reduce the impact on my feet and legs. They're also a great climbing shoe. I've climbed 5.10 multipitch routes also done a lot of forerunning in the gym in TX4s. They're pretty comfortable too and I wear them around the city as well.
