Easy to use, cheap, quick to setup, there are better braking belay devices out there, but not for this price, super-lightweight.

Perfect for everything from the gym to rappelling to outdoor top-roping. May want to invest in something with a high friction or auto-locking mode for more advanced stuff but this thing should still be clipped to your harness as a backup.
