Sit-on-top kayaks have no cockpit. You are sitting directly on top of the kayak and are therefore exposed to the water. A big benefit of the sit-on-top kayak is ease of entry. Sit-on-top kayaks are perfect in warmer climates. Most kayakers find sit-on-top kayaks very stable.
