Transport
Transport involves more than just throwing the kayak on the
roof of your car and tying it down securely. You must take
care to avoid potential distortion of the hull. Car-topping
the kayak is best done with a quality roof rack specifically
designed for attaching kayaks. Foam cradles are another, less
expensive, option.
The ends of the boat should be tied to the bumpers of the
vehicle. Cinching down these bow and stern lines too tightly,
however, will increase the likelihood of hull warpage, as
will leaving the boat tied tightly to the vehicle for an
extended period or in the hot sun. You should also run straps
around the center of the boat and secure it to either the
rack or the vehicle.

Storage
Boats made from polyethylene plastic are strong, rigid, and
highly impact resistant. But, due to the nature of plastic
in general, it is important that you take steps to store your
boat properly. It is best to store your kayak indoors, out
of direct sunlight, and protected from inclement weather.
Preferably, you should stand your boat on end or hang it suspended
by a pair of slings from the bulkheads or about 2 inches on
either side of the cockpit. Slings can be made from 2" or
3" nylon webbing. Do not hang your boat from its grab loops
or handles. It will increase the likelihood of warpage. One
storage alternative is to use a foam cradle.
Composite Storage
Store your composite kayak as described above. Always loosen
or remove the rubber hatches to allow the storage compartments
to "breathe."
