I've been battling with different companies over the years when asking for advice and opinions in deciding what products to buy and I've always been pushed along and rushed in conversation. Just wanted to send a HUGE thank you to the woman I spoke with on Friday, September 9th. We spent a little over 30 minutes on the phone discussing the pros and cons of the specific boats that I was interested in and she gave me wonderful insight and personal experiences to the issues I was concerned with. This initial review is more about the buying experience with Outdoorplay. I knew what I wanted prior to starting my online search, so it was a matter of finding my kayak and balancing price, quality service and dependable logistics to get the boat to me. This yak will be used as platform for doing waterfowl photography as well as recreational, light touring and fishing, the color was important and locally only "hot colors" were available.

After searching various etailers online Outdoorplay had the most competitive price. Good prices are great, but reputation, service and dependability also factor into determining value, imo. After scouring customer reviews at outdoorplay I was reasonably assured that the experience would be positive. I decided to go with outdoorplay and phone my order in to make sure the yak was indeed in stock. I spoke with Jason on the phone and the order was placed and shipped the same day. Initially my tracking number gave me and error and I was unable to track. I called Jason and he quickly gave me the information I needed. The error came from the website linking to Reddway freight, while my yak was coming UPS freight. Once Jason informed me UPS freight was the carrier the tracking info was easy found. Shipping from Oregon to Michigan via freight was 6 days, very impressive. My experience with freight has been it's a bit slower than ground, but not in this case.

Overall the buying experience was great and free shipping that arrived in 6 days was incredible. An excellent experience and one that will insure I make future purchases at outdoorplay. I'm of the opinion that an accurate review of a boat should only come after extensive use through varied conditions. My initial experience has been as expected, but I'm hesitant to review the boat at this time because of my limited hours in the boat at this time, even though I'm very pleased with my purchase.

So this review is really a review of the experience of purchasing from outdoorplay and a follow up will come after more extensive hours in the cockpit. But so far I couldn't be happier.
