Frontloader Bike Roof Rack
|Yakima Frontloader Bike Roof Rack - The Frontloader Bike Rack by Yakima is one of the most versatile racks available and will quickly find a place in your heart. The universal fit works with most crossbars including aerodynamic factory bars, allowing the rack to go right from the box onto your car roof rack. Your bike stays vertical as it rolls onto the roof rack bike mount for quick and easy loading while the easy-to-adjust sliding wheel tray makes positioning the rear wheel a snap. The Frontloader has no problem handling disc brakes, thru axles or funky suspensions and it doesn’t touch the painted surfaces of your bike which makes for a great bike mount for your carbon rig. Super security locks your bike to the bike mount, and the bike mount to your car rack system (2 SKS LOCK CORES sold separately). If you are looking for a quick and easy way to get riding, look no further than the Frontloader Bike Rack by Yakima.
Yakima Frontloader Bike Rack - Holds 1 bike, up to 40 lbs at 18 inch crossbar spread, or up to 30 lbs at 16 inch crossbar spread. This bike rack is great. It's so easy to install after the first time (It was still very simple the first time) and it hold the bike securely. It does help tremendously if you have someone to help you load and unload the bikes. If your short it may be tough to load if you don't have someone to help you. My only complaint is the location of the cable that goes around the frame is built in a way so only a band of plastic holds it to the rest of the rack. The way around this is to put the cable through your front tire and then around the frame. Other than that a truly amazing bike rack. I would highly recommend it.
If you can't install this rack, you probably shouldn't operate a bicycle...or a car for that matter. I put it on and drove from Berkeley, CA to Ashland, OR with my bike in it, and the rack made almost no noise and the bike was really secure. I know this, because people weren't afraid to be behind me or next to me, who wants to be behind a crazy bike flopping around on the roof of a car? Why are you still reading?! Go buy one!
