|The Werner Kalliste Touring Sea Kayak Paddle - This touring kayak paddle is by far Werner’s lightest and most elegant touring paddling in their kayak paddle line-up. It is the best combination of mid-size blades along with a foam core make up in a quiet, light, and powerful paddle. Long paddle outings are a walk in the park with these light buoyant core blades. The Kalliste's foam core design creates a unique profile where by your paddle enters and exits the water smoothly and effortlessly while adding buoyancy for a lighter feeling stroke. The dihedral face of the paddle blades offers the touring kayaker smooth forward strokes and reduces fatigue.
Like most other Werner paddles, the Kalliste has an adjustable ferrule system which allows elegant adjustment of feathering angle from 0° - 75° right or left in 15° increments. If you are ready to step up to premium performance, the Kalliste in carbon is the natural progression. The Kalliste is offered in both the straight shaft or bent shaft models. It comes in a two piece design for compactability and ease of travel along with storage. Drip rings help keep hands and lap dry.
Small Fit shaft option - Performance starts with the proper fit. Werner innovated small fit paddles, allowing smaller hands to be able to grasp with a lighter grip for better technique and minimized fatigue. To see if Small Fit is best for you, measure your hand size by placing a ruler at the base of your palm (at the joint of your wrist) and measure to the tip of your middle finger. If you measure smaller than 6.5 inches, we suggest the Small Fit shaft. Longer, go to the standard shaft. Paddlers with shorter, thicker fingers also gravitate to small shafts.
I’ve been a Werner fan for years. I always had a Werner Camano but was interested in all this hype of the light weight Kalliste paddle that Werner engineered and decided to give myself a treat and get one. WOW!!!!!!!! It’s so light and soooooooo smooth. I never thought that I could enjoy this sport even more than I did. It makes me go that much longer on my paddle days on the water. Well worth the extra money!

If you enjoy kayaking - then you must have this paddle and you'll be surprised that you will love it even more! My first paddle was a nice, middle-grade Werner, but even it feels like a tank compared with this one. I previously found that at the start of every summer when we started paddling more, I was struggling the first couple of times on the water with "tennis elbow". After switching to this paddle - NO FATIGUE - EVER. We paddle rough water for anywhere from 4 to 6 hours a day and my arms do not fatigue. It's like the paddle WANTS to paddle. It pops right out of the water, smoothly dips in, it's effortless. Excellent product, I have to say it's well worth the money. I will not kayak without it
I have been experiencing considerable neck pain and have been in physical therapy. The light weight coupled with the design have allowed me to paddle "pain free" for hours and miles at a time! Even in heavy winds the ultra-light paddle handles extremely well. Price is high, but worth it for me, as I would otherwise not be paddling.
I bought the kalliste paddle right before a 5 day/4 night kayak camping trip in the adirondacks, during which we paddled over 60 miles. This paddle is expensive, but by day three I wouldn't have wanted any other. Initially it didn't seem to have the power and acceleration of my old paddle. After several hours of paddling however, it felt just about right for offering continuous high cruising speeds with less fatigue in the arms and shoulders. In this case the cost is justified by its performance, excellent construction and beautiful appearance.
For years if wanted the Camano and bought one, and i love it, then the Kalista, I have had it for a short time and I now hardly ever use the Camano it is the back-up paddle now. The Kalista is the best ever paddle for me. I only wish I would have gotten the bent shaft, with that said, I now have a paddle fetish and will get the ovation bent soon. But the Kalista is only second to the Ovation, so get the Kalista you will never regret it.
