Wave Sport Habitat Whitewater Kayak - Creeking is about a lot more than just getting from here to there. It’s about exploring steep canyons that few paddlers have laid eyes on or scouting for the perfect line with your buds. And it’s about making sure you all reach the take out in one piece. So you’re gonna want to be wrapped in a boat that’s solid, comfortable, responsive and safe. The Habitat is your boat! The displacement hull lets you land softly off large drops, while hard chines toward the stern of the hull give great edging, allowing you to make eddies and maneuver around obstacles. In addition to exhaustive work on the hull, a new rotomolded seat and hull beam add structural integrity as well as easy adjustability. With the plush thermoformed seat pad, thigh ratchet backband and the new injection molded thigh hooks you'll be able to connect with your kayak like never before. The bow pillar is also rotomolded plastic with three attachment points on the deck for strong structural stability and minimizing the possibility of the bow folding in the event of a pin. The pillar has a step-out system just in case you do need to get out of your boat during a pin, and five grab handles ready for anything. With new outfitting, strong safety features and innovative hull design, the Habitat is the boat of choice for excellent boat handling in extreme whitewater conditions. Creeking is all about the journey and the adventures that define you, so if you’re just getting into creeking or an old pro, you'll want a boat that gets you through whatever the moment throws at you. Wave Sport made the Habitat just for you!
Don't forget Float Bags with your kayak! This important safety accessory limits the amount of water that can enter the boat should a wet exit be necessary. The NRS Float Bags fit this kayak.
I am in my second year in this boat and it just gets better with age! From the first time I paddled it, to the trips this last weekend, this boat has stayed the same. The design is stable and does what I want every time. For an 80 gallon boat, I can get into micro eddies with ease and make the cuts I need to, too. Outfitting is second to none and this boat is super easy to load down. I am a larger guy and find tons of room for my feet and legs and don't have any cramped feeling in the boat. If you are looking for a forgiving boat to get your first creeks in then this is the best choice I have found yet!

Me: 5'6", 130, maybe 135 soaking wet, paddling for 10+ years now, former pro now turned professional grad student, no manufacturer affiliation at the moment. The Habitat- damn, that's a sexy looking boat. plenty of room to pack gear into. For a 74 gallon boat, it definitely doesn't handle or feel like something that big. Did a good job at floating over a lot of stuff, and kept its speed well plowing through hydraulics. The defined edge from the seat to the stern digs in and holds nicely carving in and out of eddies, able to snag those necessary 1-boat eddies at the top of class 5 drops with ease. Once in said drop - predictable, easy to keep the bow up and easy to control the speed. Hit the brakes when you want, or hit the gas and accelerate quicklyI was impressed by the soft landings. Boof the crap out of a drop or 45 it, the semi-displacement hull takes the impact and softens it out, keeping the back of the paddler feeling a bit better. If you end up plugging the drop, the Habitat resurfaces quickly, actually accelerating away from the base as it does. Nice. And comfy. Anyone want to buy a Java?
