Petzl SAMA Rock Climbing Harness - The Men's SAMA Harness by Petzl is ideal for sport climbing. With its EndoFrame construction, it provides excellent weight distribution around the waist and legs to ensure optimal comfort. The waistbelt and leg loops have double straps while the waistbelt is wider on the sides. Specific stitching on the waistbelt limit hard points and chafing and the elastic leg loops remain adjusted and offer complete freedom of movement. The DoubleBack Light buckle allows quick and easy adjustment of the waistbelt and Dyneema tie-in points improve resistance to rope friction. The Sama has four equipment loops, two rigid loops in front for quick and easy access to equipment and two flexible ones in the rear to avoid creating pressure points with a backpack. It also features two slots for CARITOOL tool holder (not included), a rear loop for haul rope and detachable elastic leg loop straps. The Men's SAMA Climbing Harness provides a comfortable fit in a practical design.
Great value for the money, Extremely comfortable and lightweight. Look great and feels great, what more can you ask for! Definitely my go to harness! I was worried about the sizing, as I work out frequently and focus on legs which the "average" climber doesn't really do. Needless to say, I wear a size 30 waist and my thighs are 23" and with the medium the leg loop holes are very snug, any more and it would be uncomfortable. The waistband cinches almost all the way down. I'm extremely happy i did not purchase the small!

I wanted the ease of having a light, fitted harness, and not having to worry about cinching, and un-cinching leg loops. However, I had a really tough time trying to determine the size according to Petzl's size chart on their website. I ended up ordering a Large because my leg size was at the top tier of the medium sizing for leg loops. I am 5'10 175lbs and my thigh measurements with loose gym pants were 59cm. So far, the harness feels great, I've only worn it once climbing so I anticipate a bit of stretching, but very comfortable so far. I will update this review when I spend more time with it.
Update: The ease of this harness is great! Once the waist strap is loosened its super easy to step out of, no hassle! However, I noticed the waist size is a bit big for me. The large fits great as far as the legs are concerned, but I have to cinch the waist down quite a bit. My waist with a t-shirt measures around 84cm. Hasn't given me any problems yet, but it would be nice to have more room if it stretches. According to Petzl's sizing, I could have gone with a Medium, but I would've risked sitting too tight in the legs, which could've made the harness very uncomfortable. If I happen to come across a Medium to try, I'll update the review once more, but so far, very pleased with the Large size and the harness.
