Petzl NOMAD 9.8 mm Climbing Rope - Tie into the NOMAD Climbing Rope from Petzl for sport climbs, alpine routes, or anything in-between. Thick sheath, superior handling and a well-tuned balance between dynamic elongation and impact force make this a perfect all-around rock climbing rope. Duratec Dry treatment helps prevent the rope from absorbing water, which can weaken a rope and make it difficult to handle in freezing conditions. Before a Petzl rope is constructed, the core and sheath strands are individually treated, providing water repellencty in case you find yourself in a deluge, snowfield or on a dripping ice chandelier. All Petzl ropes are butterfly coiled in the factory and are ready to use straight out of the package. This coiling method means no more tangled mess when you first use your new rope. Gone is the tedious operation of carefully uncoiling, flaking and reflaking your new rope, only to end up with annoying kinks. With the NOMAD, just tie-in and start climbing. To help facilitate descents, the middle of each Petzl cord is marked with a black bar. Even with this marking, it’s sometimes a good idea to tie a knot at the end of the rope as an additional safety measure. The Petzl NOMAD Climbing Rope is crafted to be a solid performer in nearly any situation.

I've had this rope for the past 2-3 seasons and have been climbing on it fairly regularly. The rope now has a small amount of grime from running through my belay devices and quick draws, but shows no real wear and tear. Sheath still nice and smooth with no abrasions. Maybe it still needs to be climbed on more, but I could not get it to feed smoothly from my GriGri 2. I have no issues with it in my ATC though. Since it's just my girlfriend and I primarily climbing on this rope, it does not get used much as a top rope. Great rope all in all.
