|Patagonia Men's Piton Hybrid Vest - On blustery approaches, chilly rock routes and full-on alpine missions, the Men's Piton Hybrid Vest by Patagonia takes the edge off of cold conditions. The construction relies on durable Polartec Wind Pro Hardface fabric on the front, shoulders and upper back to shed snow and fend off wind. On the sides and back, the vest utilizes super breathable, stretchy and wicking Polartec Power Dry fabric, creating a body-mapped design for use as a moderate-conditions outer layer until it's time to don a full-on shell. The zippered chest pocket and handwarmers are pack- and harness-compatible, while an off-set shoulder-seam construction lends comfort under your pack. Polartec Hardface Technology enhances the DWR (durable water repellent) finish to repel water and resist abrasion. The durable and wind resistant Patagonia Men's Piton Hybrid Vest excels as an underlayer or outer layer on long alpine climbs or chilly spring hikes.
Sizing for the Patagonia Men's Piton Hybrid Vest:

All sizing is based on your body measurement. The garment is adjusted for intended fit and use.
This vest fits great and is very comfortable. It blocks the wind and provides warmth to our core better than I expected. It's not bulky at all. I ordered a x-large and was perfect for my 6'2" slim build. Recommend going down a size for a more slimmer fit
Even though i do not use the vest on long alpine climbs, at least not yet, I do wear it constantly at work. During overnight shifts in the emergency room, it is essential that my vests are durable under many conditions, comfortable with variation of temperatures, and also professional in appearance. The Piton Hydrid satisfies all those requirements and more. Since my purchase, I have worn it everyday, and believe this is the most versatile vest I own. There is no excess material. It is form fitting, but far from restricting. If you wear vests either as a layer, or stand alone apparel, you will be completely satisfied and wish you had bought the other colors.

Superior (as usual) piece of kit, fits very well, gives me room to move, yet keeps me protected. The workmanship meets all standards. Neck zips up high on the face for protection, zippers easy-as-ever to use, what else is there to say about a vest? Now, what I would change: I'd either put a second napoleon pocket on the chest or one inside, cause I layer this most of the time, and I need two pockets high on the upper garment. Also, I'd throw in a drawstring on the bottom to really pull it in tight, plus have somewhere to hang light piece of gear of of, like light gloves or a beanie. Then again, I don't climb with it, I ski with it and don't have a harness (usually) to hang gear from, so maybe not the best person to review.

I got this vest mainly so I didn't have to buy a fanny pack while skiing. I wanted something light and with more than 2 pockets (this has 3). The zippers work well and the 2 side pockets are big enough for my ski gloves when I'm really hot. I would recommend this as a spring vest, I'm gonna use it for hiking after ski season.
