  • 2mm plastic midsole shim
  • 3mm neoprene uppers
  • Glued and stitched seams
  • Instep strap and heel drawcord
  • Shopping Info
This ankle-high bootie is perfect for any watersport. The sole wraps around the upper ankle adding protection to the side of the foot. A 2mm plastic midsole shim provides solid protection from sharp rocks and sticks on slippery surfaces. 3mm neoprene uppers with glued and blind-stitched seams keep your feet warm from toes to heels, while the extra-wide instep strap and drawcord ensure that these shoes stay put.

    Sizing:

The Kicker comes in whole, unisex sizes. We recommend women order one size smaller and people with half-sized feet order the next full size up. For full details, please see the sizing chart.

Kickers are an inexpensive, low cut paddling shoe of good design. They attach by means of a wide velcro strap across the top and an adjustable drawstring around the ankle. A nice feature is a tough rubber sole that extends around the back of the shoe and provides padding for your heels when seated. Like all other NRS products I have used or come across, the materials seem to be of exceptional quality and wear very well. The sizes seem very conventional and the material has enough stretch that is not unreasonable to mail order a pair. You'll be pleased.

The NRS Kicker is a great kayak shoe but be pre-warned, they are small. I followed the NRS instructions and order the next size up a 9 from my normal 8 1/2. They are very snug to say the least. I wear a 8 1/2 extra wide and realize that I should have purchased the 10. May have been too long but it would be a closer fit than the 9. The 9's are more of a 8 than anything. Other than the size issue they keep the sand and rocks out wading while providing good traction. I wade the Hocking River in Athens, OH for saugeye and sauger and they are much better than the mesh shoes or sandals. I have used them on my sit-on-top and they held great traction on the hull of my kayak, no slipping like some I have tried. I know I will have to buy another brand or size and that gets these shoes a 4 star rating instead of a 5. Wish they were sized correctly, hope this helps others before they purchase, check and double check the size before you buy and you may want to move on if you have wide feet.
