NRS Earl 6 Inflatable SUP Board specs:
I was looking for a good SUP for mostly flat water use but some river use as well. I tried many different hard boards and they are great but I have a small car and wanted to be able to travel and explore different places. The hard boards were too hard to go long distances on the highway. I started to look into inflatable SUPs but was afraid the quality or performance wouldn't be as good. The Earl 6 solved all my problems. It fits in the trunk or back seat of my small car and is actually easy to inflate. I have read the reviews about taking 15 minutes to inflate. Not for me. I can be ready for the water in under 5 minutes. It is a workout getting the last couple of lbs of pressure but no problem. Once inflated to 15lbs it is very stiff. It really feels very close to a hard board. The Earl 6 is very easy for me to control in the water. Choppy water has been no problem as the Earl 6 is a very stable board. I went with the 6 because I am 6' tall and weigh 220lbs.I needed something that could handle more weight. On the Earl 6 I can stay out of the water if I want. With other boards the water was always lapping over the sides. I have found the valve system on the NRS boards to be the best out there. Easy to inflate and easy to deflate and pack up. This is my first year on an SUP board. Since I was a beginner I was afraid it would be hard to learn how to stay on the board. I am happy to say I haven't fallen off of the Earl 6 once. The only time I am in the water is when I want to be!
