Cross 4 Kayaking Booties
|NRS Cross 4 Water Shoes - The Cross 4 Water Shoe combines many excellent features into one great shoe. They features a 4-mm neoprene upper for reliable warmth and extra padding, while NRS’ legendary TiCoat layer provides additional insulation. The 7mm padded insole and 2mm mid-sole shim cushions impact during extended hiking and protects your feet from sharp rocks, while the integrated adjustable arch strap tightens the top of the boot around your foot for increased stability and a comfortable, secure fit. A traction sole provides good grip for solid footing, and the slim, rounded sole design eliminates uncomfortable edges. The hi-top design and gusseted YKK zipper guarantees easy entry and removal.
Sizing for NRS Cross 4 Water Shoes:
The NRS Cross 4 boots comes in whole, unisex sizes. We recommend women order one size smaller and people with half-sized feet order the next full size up. For full details, please see the sizing chart.
Great paddling shoes. They’re simple, without a lot of straps to get caught on your foot pegs. They’re comfortable without compressing my feet. They stay in place with the handy Velcro strap. They’ve got a thick enough sole but aren’t so thick that I can’t use my toes for balance. And the price is perfect for my wallet!
Warm enough for spring trips. Great protection on rocky beaches.
I use these boots in the Hudson River year-round standup paddling and windsurfing. The insulation is good enough to keep my feet from freezing in water in the 40s. I do find that my feet start to freeze after repeated little dunkings, like the little wavelets that wash per my feet while I'm standup paddling. I use these in the summer too because of the sharp rocks in the river as well as the evil water chestnut pods. Those spiked things can go right through a lesser bootie. I do wish the cuff let in less water, but I just have to make sure I tuck them into my wetsuit leg. It's not an option in the summer when I'm not wearing one, though.
I saw these boots on sale and picked them up. After several years of multi-day ducky trips with cold, wet chacos and wool socks, I finally made this investment and am happy so far. Used these on a 4 day raft trip and overnight ducky trip so far. Feels comfortable and warm when lined with a wool sock. A great product with good traction and keeps you warm and happy when wet for winter and early spring kayaking.
The shoes stay put, traction on slimy rocks is good, and the velcro strap ensures a comfy fit. However!!! While the shoe length is sized correctly it is quite a chore to get them on and off due to the gyrations your ankle has to go through to get the foot into the lower portion of the shoe.
the high top with zipper along with the retention strap makes for a great fitting paddling shoe that just can't come off, even when walking thru mud. the soles are very thick and protective when going over shells and rocks. Warm, too!
I love these boots. They are extremely comfortable and warm. I suffer from feet that are always cold, but these keep my feet snuggly warm all day whilst kayaking, even in the middle of Winter (in Southern NSW, Australia), and even when totally wet!! Comfortable enough to wear all day in and out of the water. Great grip. Well padded inside.
I've never written a review, this being the first. These shoes are very comfortable, warm and durable. Used them about 75 times and they are still in new condition. Purchased a second pair so the first had time to dry out. One of my best kayak purchases.

These are very well-desinged and a great value. They stay on well, and support the foot, due to the adjustable straps. The soles provide support and great traction. They are thick and rugged enough to make walking on sharp rocks comfortable. I've had other boating shoes which cost more, but weren't as good!
