Sizing for the Marmot Limelight Tents:
After much research I selected the Limelite 3 for a week long backpacking trip in the Adirondacks with my daughter and her dog. The tent performed very well with conditions ranging from crystal clear "Adirondack Days" , to hot & humid days, and some exceptionally heavy rain. Totally H2O proof and very good ventilation. No splash-up issues between the tent and fly either. Vestibules held boots and packs easily, and the D doors are super easy in & out. My advice is always go up one person size, and this is also true for this tent. It fit me (6'3") my daughter (5'11") and her 45lb puppy very comfortably (no, he wouldn't stay in the vestibule overnight). The weight to space ratio is pretty good also. Very good tent at a very reasonable price Yes, I would definitely recommend.
Top notch tent! Have used this tent several times during week long elk hunting trips. Plenty room for two people and all your gear. Would be very tight with three people. Love the two big vestibules for storing your packs, boots and other misc. items. Very sturdy tent with tough material. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to the weight. Mine all packed in the bag with the footprint and all weighs in at 7lbs 12oz. A bit on the heavy side, but like I said, this is a very tough tent. Highly recommended.
I recently purchased my Limelight 3P, and can easily say it is the best tent I have used, and I have used many tents over the years in a variety of circumstances. My son (16 year old Eagle Scout) and I backpacked in the Colorado Rockies last week, and the Limelight performed great. There is ample space for two people and gear in the tent, and the vestibules were large enough such that we could each store our backpacks, boots, etc on our side of the tent and still have enough room to enter/exit on our own sides. The zippers worked great, and the loops to tie back the doors and vestibule flaps worked well. The gear attic as well as the interior pockets on each corner were handy. Set-up is a breeze, even for one person. Overall, this is a very, very good tent. Recommendation for users - There are loops at the head and foot of the fly, and definitely plan to "guy - out" and stake those points. We did not do this the first night, and we had a lot of condensation inside the fly. After staking those points to allow more ventilation, we had zero condensation the remainder of the trip. Recommendation for Marmot - Include two more stakes (and perhaps two short lines) to do the above.
