Fury Camping Tent
|MSR Fury 2-person Camping Tent - The MSR Fury 2-Person Camp Tent employs innovative fabric which shaves its weight by nearly half a pound! Three-pole structure combined with Compression Tension Design provides superior strength, maximizes headroom and increases usable floor space. Large hooped vestibule provides a stable, roomy gear storage area. Excellent ventilation is provided through the door, the large, zippered mesh rear window and peak vent with kickstand support. Color-coded poles and continuous pole sleeves provide easy setup. DryGuys dry out your tent in extreme conditions with up to a 10mm climbing rope; won't wick, freeze or hold water. Polyurethane-coated rainfly and floor provide excellent waterproofness and durability. Interior pockets, removable gear loft and utility loops keep your gear organized and accessible. Adjustable stake loops have ladderloc tensioner that is backed up by a second webbing loop; four-season loops are large enough to accept skis. Expedition door system vents tent interior with improved nylon mesh and zips shut to keep out the elements. Enlarged zipper pulls and buckles withstand extreme weather and can be easily manipulated with mittens or gloves. MSR uses non-wicking materials throughout; these prevent water weight gain during your trip and won't transport water into the tent. Includes stuff sacks, stakes and guyline. Average minimum weight specification is based on tent, rainfly and poles only.

I bought this tent for two purposes: winter camping and mountaineering; and have been happy using it for both. The weight is pretty good for a four season tent, and the tent is solid. It is easy to get in and out of the tent, and with the rear window and ability to leave the vestibule door slightly open, ventilation is quite good. The poles go through continuous sleeves on the tent body. While this is more tedious than the nice clips on a lot of current tents, I can still set the tent up, alone, in 5-7 minutes...and the sleeves offer a more solid structure in the end. Also, the tent does come with sufficient guy lines to peg out the bottom of the fly, and the windward side(for wind). If you want enough guy lines to peg out the whole 360 degrees for a gale, you need to make another half dozen guy lines. And, it is a few pegs shy...while this does save weight, you'll have to use either a ski, axe, some rocks or something for a few of the guy lines. One last note, there are pockets everywhere in this tent, and it comes with a gear loft. If you're looking for a tent that will withstand some nasty wind, snow or both, this one will do it at a decent weight.
