SeaO2 Kayak PFD Lifejacket
|Kokatat SeaO2 Kayak Lifejacket - The SeaO2 Vest is the first UL-approved hybrid inflatable PFD designed for kayaking. Easy to paddle and swim in, this lightweight design inflates from 7.5 to 22.5 pounds of flotation in three seconds via a CO2 cylinder. It can be inflated, deflated and rearmed without removing the vest. An oral inflation tube allows you to adjust the amount of flotation on the fly, or to manually inflate the jacket if you are out of CO2. The side zipper makes for easy entry and exit, and 6 points of adjustment allow you to perfectly customize the fit. The mesh back design accommodates the taller seats found in many of today's touring and recreational kayaks, and in conjunction with the mesh sides provides excellent ventilation. The roomy mesh front pocket provides plenty of room for key essentials, as well as a smaller radio pocket. Front and back reflective tape aids visibility in low-light conditions, and lash tabs keep knives and beacons securely in place.
Please note - due to shipping restrictions, the CO2 cartridge that comes with SeaO2 Lifejacket can only be shipped via Ground services. While the jacket can be expedited, no expedited shipping options are available for the cartridge. Also, we are unable to ship the CO2 cartridge to Alaska, Hawaii or international destinations.
Sizing for the Kokatat SeaO2 Kayak Lifejacket
Being a gadget junkie, I am a sucker for all things new. No exception for this semi-inflatable PFD. I was not disappointed with the Sea02. I wanted less and more. More pocket space and less bulk. The back is all mesh up to between the shoulders. That allows plenty of empty space to lie back on the deck when desired. It is also cooler in warm weather because of this. The radio pocket seems secure with a D-ring to clip my ICOM inside. The other pocket is large enough for what I carry along. Behind this pocket is a cavernous void where the C02 cartridge is tucked into. I say cavernous because I thought I lost my Optio WP camera and small scotch flask. Anyway, the PFD will float me with just its supplied foam. The oral inflater only takes 3 breaths to inflate fully. The vest kept my head upright whether inflated or not. When inflated, the additional air is about 75% over your sternum and 25% between your shoulder blades. Another great attribute of this PFD is how easy it is to swim with on. The only thing I did not like is how you let air out. It is a spring loaded and you need to turn the cap upside and press it to deflate. I'd rather no "tools" be needed to deflate it.

This is a GREAT PFD. Inherent flotation and even a spare cylinder. I like the large storage pocket. And, the small pocket has a tab closure; very nice thought! It fits like a glove and if You need extra flotation the manual mouth tube works very well and in an emergency, in a flash, pull the cord and CO2 fills the jacket. This vest is extremely well made. I'm going to feel very secure with it on. You're going to like this. Can't go wrong. A bit of a price; but, no doubt it, worth the investment.
