Sizing for the Kelty Pathfinder 3.0 Kid Carrier:
I had used a Kelty pack with my first daughter 10 years ago. Now with my second daughter I tried again. This pack is AWESOME! It is the Cadillac of packs, comfortable, easy to use, light weight and the BEST ever! If you like to go to the mall, zoo, mountains. This is the pack to have. Thank You for a GREAT product!
I was really impressed by the safety features built in to this carrier. I bought this as a gift for my youngest grandson and my only regret is that I did not think to buy it sooner. My daughter said it made carrying him much easier than their previous carrier did, and he is more comfortable on longer treks. Since it fits babies up to 40 lbs it should be the last backpack they need. It is very easy to adjust the pack to each individual carrying him and a lot of the annoying things about their previous pack simply are not an issue with this one. (eg. pressure points ) Although it is more expensive than some similar carriers I do not regret this decision.
Kelty has done a great job with this child carrier. We've had it since our daughter was 12 months old and there is nothing I've found to dislike about it. It's highly adjustable, comfortable to wear, and well built. Nothing about it is gimmicky or flimsy. The waist straps are well designed and put most of the weight on your hips just like backpacking packs do. The shoulder straps are comfortable and the adjustment straps also control the kickstand so be sure to tighten them when you put the pack on and loosen them before you take the pack off your shoulders. There is a height adjustable pad to fit against the curve of your lower back which provides additional fit and support. When this thing is on you it just feels solid. The child compartment is just as well thought-out. The sling the child fits into is height adjustable so as they grow they're always safely contained. The harness that goes over the shoulders is comfortable and soft keeping them safely in the pack no matter what happens. I'm pretty sure if if I fell down while wearing this (which I haven't) that I would get more hurt than the baby. There is a removable and washable pad that attaches inside right in front of the child's face which makes clean up after snack or drink spills very doable. The removable backpack is excellent. My wife has even started using it as our main diaper bag. The included changing pad with zippered mesh pocket for wipe and diaper storage, two mesh pockets for cups, lots of room inside, and the back pack shoulder straps just make this very convenient. The sun-shade is nice to have but my daughter usually prefers to have it off for better views. She can go about 90 minutes before she'd rather be walking around by herself, but I don't think that's the carrier's fault.
