Our product return and exchange process is very easy. Simply return the product within 30 days of the date of purchase. Fill out the return form on the back of the invoice you received and send it with the product. Kelty Car Tarp Camping Shelter - Don't go to that weekend-long summer music festival without the Kelty Car Tarp. This easy-to-use, versatile shelter gives you shade when the noonday sun is beating down on you. The Car Tarp attaches to your vehicle, and two DAC fiberglass poles prop it up. Place your guylines where you want them and line length adjusts so you have no slack. Should the weather turn rainy, this three-season Kelty shelter will help keep you dry too. For use with a vehicle or structure, the Kelty Car Tarp is a simple, versatile, high value shelter that provides the right amount of protection.
The shelter sets up very nicely using velcro straps to connect the tarp to the luggage rack. However, I am only giving four stars because there is no apparent way to make the set-up tight enough to prevent puddling in the rain. I had to jury rig the velcros so there was a low corner, and when the puddle filled up the weight would dump the water on the low corner. On the plus side, the shelter covers s lot of territory ... a three man tent and a seat with room to open the car doors. It stood up well for a couple of thunderstorms and dried quickly. I even fell asleep during one late night thunderstorm and awoke the next morning in a dry tent. It was great having my tent in the shade on the hot days and the extra rain coverage. The shelter is well-built ... light and strong. I would recomment this item for anyone who feels they can use it.

I bought the Kelty Car Tarp two years ago and have been using till date. It is a great companion to our 4x4 wagon. Most of the time I attach it to the tailgate - as long as you have a roof rack or roof rails, the tarp installs with ease. I love the fact that I can do this single handed and even in windy conditions. It comes with a set of superb staff poles which are extremely light and break-down into four pieces and a smaller fiberglass pole that connects the unit to the vehicle. I did however have an issue with the smaller fiberglass pole as the string broke on its third usage - a minor issue that I was able to repair at next to nothing. I do also own the Kelty Carport Deluxe, which is great, but takes too long to setup and too many poles. It can be hell to setup on windy conditions. I do like it a lot, but if you want simplicity, the car tarp is it - look no further.
