Beta Light 2 Person Camping Tent
Black Diamond Beta Light 2-Person Camping Tent - The Beta Light 2-person camping tent by Black Diamond is an ultralight version of the Betamid. The Beta Light is built from 30d SilNylon to provide the same coverage of 3.2 square meters (34.7 square feet) at half the weight and space in your pack. It pitches taut and is fast and easy to set up and break down with seven stake outs and two adjustable length trekking poles or ski poles (not included). The floorless design lets you set up your stove inside and have dinner without worrying about spilling on the floor. For a three-season shelter it can be used with the Beta Bug. The Black Diamond Beta Light 2-Person Camping Tent is perfect for the minimalist backpacker.
Please Note: The Beta Light shelter requires seam sealing with McNett SilNet Sealer (not included).

Specs for Black Diamond Beta Light 2-Person Camping Tent:
I really like my Beta Light. Its totally lightweight, has all the room I need for me and my gear and is a snap to set up. Also but not the least, its really sturdy - mine has weathered high winds and heavy rain. Its great spring, summer into late fall. Check it out if you are looking for a lightweight shelter. I highly recommend.
This was my traveling buddy on the JMT. It only took me one tube of seam grip even though I bought two just in case to seam seal everything. The trick is to spread a thin layer just over the threads and it will dry fast. The tent held up in hail, wind and sideways rain. It accumulated a lot of condensation but that may have been mostly from my heavy breathing! I usually slept sideways inside, between the two trekking poles for optimum space. Great tarp and trusty sidekick.
I love having this tent in my pack. It takes up less space than a Nalgene bottle and weighs next to nothing. Yes seam sealing does take a bit of time (buy 2 tubes for the outside and 2 more if you plan on doing the inside as well(...not necessary)) however it is well worth the extra effort, just look at it as a way to familiarize yourself with a new piece of gear. I rarely leave my car without this tent just in case I get caught in unexpected weather. Just the though of being dry and out of the wind no matter what I encounter make the extra few ounces worth it. Most of us carry trekking poles anyway, and I love that I don't need a special pole for it. Also after setting it up a few times it will only take you 1-2 minutes.
