AIRE Tributary Tomcat Solo Inflatable Kayak - The Tributary Tomcat Solo inflatable kayak from AIRE is an entry-level boat built with a perfect blend of design and price. The upturned bow and deflect waves, making the Tomcat easy to maneuver when the action picks up. A heavy-duty PVC outer shell provides superior durability, and airtight internal bladders provide an extra measure of strength and safety. The adjustable inflatable backrest provides great support. With a roomy interior and multiple tie-down loops, there's plenty of room for gear on overnight trips. The AIRE Tributary Tomcat Solo inflatable kayak is a fun and comfortable choice for paddlers who want to try the sport of whitewater kayaking.

The Tomcat is a very versatile, fun boat and is an excellent value. It's a little heavier than Aire's fancier models, but still weighs under 40 pounds with paddles, PFDs, and a pump... so it is easily packable. It's rigid and maneuverable enough for whitewater, and comfortable and roomy enough for long trips- We spent a week on the Teslin and Yukon Rivers and we fit all of our gear plus a larger cooler. This spring, I added a swivel chair mounted on some 1x6's that allows me to ride higher while fishing. It's a bit ghetto but it is very handy. Rarely have I been so impressed with something that I've invested in.

I just purchased this boat last week and I can tell you that this is a exceptional boat for the money. The kayak blows up pretty stiff and the self bailing air floor removes the water quickly. The boat is not tippy like my previous kayaks, the Sevylor pro and the Innova safari. The downside of this boat is that it is a little heavy (35 lbs), the backrest not very supportive (recommend a aire cheetah chair), and the bow is a little short (making for a little more water splashing in the boat). However, all in all, I still think this is the best inexpensive inflatable kayak on the market. It’s a great value. Oh, and don't forget your lifevest.

I am a whitewater paddler. Hardshell 11 year's, raft guide for 4. A back and foot injury makes paddling a hardshell painful and un-nerving. My first trip with the Tomcat was class 3-4. Performed flawlessly. It really act's like an old school displacement hulled kayak. Very stable, easy to turn, peel out's and eddies are a breeze. Just make sure to add thigh-strap's.
